- SCHOOLCLASSEXCHANGE
School class exchange was a separate activity was the group as such only made the framework and otherwise was little involved. The group made an information folder presenting the rules that had been set for exchange activity. The folder was sent to all high schools in the region. The project offers to help getting in touch with a cooperative school in another region, and to refund exchange expenses according to the rules. The schools have themselves been responsible for administering the exchange, that is: Make deals with the other school, organize the travel, program, etc.

The school´s reports show different exchange activities. Most visited a class within the same branch of study as themselves, and had activities connected to this. Fx: Art classes were making ice sculptures and filming and editing videos; classes for social workers visited kinder gardens and museum exhibitions adapted to children. Others chose to cooperate with a school similar to them regarding size, profile of branches, etc. The pupils introduced their own school system to each other, and made this their object of study.

The teachers and pupils having taken part in an exchange have been very pleased, and a short questionnaire shows that the schools want to continue the contacts they have established. Keeping up a connection that already has been established is much easier than making a new one. Thinking of the information challenge we saw in the first part of the project, we would recommend keeping the exchange possibility open by reserving a small fund for this purpose each year. To “spread the word" among colleagues is a good way of recruiting new actors, and a contact like this will also be a help in overcoming practical challenges.

These schools participated in the exchange (some more than once):
Sør-Trøndelag: Brundalen videregående skole, Strinda v.g.s., Tiller v.g.s.
Nord-Trøndelag: Egge videregående skole.
Jämtland: Wargentinskolan , Palmcrantzskolan
Västernorrland: Nordvikskolan, Västermalms skola , Skvaderns gymnasieskola, Sundsvalls gymnasium
South Ostrobothnia: Kurpitsa theatre association and Kurikka school  (In cooperation with the theater-project  in WP5).
Central Finland: Muurame and Palokka upper secondary schools
South Savo: Savonlinna Senior Secondary School of Art and Music
Ostrobothnia: Vasa upper secondary school

Olov Oskarsson and Rasmus Molund, two youngsters from Västernorrland and Jämtland,  who have been participating in ProMidNords youth cooperation participated in the AER Youth Summer school which hade the theme “Future of Europe" this year.

Olov and Rasmus presented the ProMidNord -project and told about the youth-cooperation made in it. The project interested a lot of people and was seen as an excellent example of a project which involves young people in eg. decisionmaking.
